A Simple Guide to Screen Recording on iPhone

Screen recording on your iPhone can be a handy feature, whether you want to capture a tutorial, showcase a gameplay achievement, or share a bug with tech support. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to screen record on your iPhone.

Step 1: Enable Screen Recording

  1. Open your Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap on “Control Center.”
  3. Tap “Customize Controls.”
  4. Locate “Screen Recording” and tap the green plus button next to it to add it to your Control Center.

Step 2: Access Control Center

Swipe down from the top-right corner of your iPhone screen (or swipe up from the bottom, depending on your iPhone model) to access the Control Center.

Step 3: Start Screen Recording

  1. In the Control Center, find the screen recording icon (a circle within a circle) and tap it.
  2. A countdown will begin, giving you time to navigate to the screen you want to record.
  3. To start recording, tap the red status bar at the top of your screen. A timer will appear to indicate the recording is in progress.

Step 4: Stop Screen Recording

To stop recording, tap the red status bar again, or return to the Control Center and tap the screen recording icon. You’ll receive a notification that the screen recording has been saved to your Photos app.

Additional Tips:

  • Record with Audio: If you want to capture audio alongside your screen recording, long-press or 3D Touch the screen recording icon in the Control Center. Tap the microphone icon to toggle audio recording.
  • Edit and Trim: After recording, open the video in the Photos app to edit and trim it to your preference.
